Visualizing the main motif for the cutting-edge foldable phone series

OPPO, one of the world's largest manufacturers, is renowned primarily for its smartphones.  This year, preparing for the global launch of the both Find N3 Flip and Find N3 phones, OPPO entrusted us with the task of producing the wallpapers to establish the main visual direction for this series. 

Inheriting the theme of the previous generations, we created an elegant feather composition capturing the refined curves and details of the foldable phones. The wallpapers symbolize the harmony between technology and aesthetics, seamlessly integrating with the essence of OPPO's innovative design philosophy.

Exploration

How many images can be envisioned when you hear just one word — feather?

Diving with all our enthusiasm into the RnD stage, we explored lots of combinations of shapes, colours and textures to find the delicate balance between naturalness and digital abstraction. 

We have delved deep into the study of varieties of feather shapes, gathering an entire collection on our virtual board. Feather structure, texture, the thickness of the tufts all mattered in the context of finding a base. 

Composition

The next step on our way was to explore the composition. The main feature of the new series is the new camera system, which has a circular shape. Having this feature in the device, we aimed to maintain the consistency of design and integrate round forms into the digital wallpaper.

Animation

Creating a moving wallpaper for the world's best foldable phones, it was important to seamlessly incorporate animation that would work with perfect precision when the phone opened. Our task was to bring the existing composition alive and to give the movement nuance and elegance, emphasising the sense of flowing lines and naturalistic forms.
